Mixgreens Launch Calorie Count

Eating out just got healthier as Mixgreens,Galway’s favourite ‘fast-casual’ restaurant have now added a calorie count to their menus, making it easier for people to make healthy choices when eating out.

Maev Creaven, a leading Nutritional Therapist was brought on board to evaluate not only the menus at Mixgreens, but also the recipes used as well as their cooking methods.

Kieran Nolan, Managing Director of Mixgreens commented on the new calorie count menus: “Maev is a well known nutritionist and we worked closely with her to evaluate our menus and see if we could make changes that would make our food even more healthy, she also gave us advice as to how we could reduce the likes of sodium levels in our food and we have followed them and implemented them in our cooking process’.

“We serve quality and healthy food, with quick service at accessible prices. We are what we say on the tin,” Kieran explained.

With a handy nutrition calculator that allows you to know exactly what will be in the food you select, you can easily customize your food to meet your specific nutritional needs. The new menus will be launched across all three Mixgreens stores in Galway.

A new website is also set to be launched soon and will have full nutritional breakdown of the menu as well as a calorie calculator. “When people come in store, even if they are making up their own salads from the salad bar, they will be able to easily calculate the calorie content in the dish,” Kieran added.
