One for the seafood lovers this May Bank Holiday Weekend ( April 29th – May 1st ) , the Connemara Mussel Festival’s tagline is ‘A Feast For The Senses’ , it really is just that. After winning the McKenna’s Guides Food Festival of 2014, the village of Tullycross in Connemara has a packed programme including an Amateur Chef Competition for the best mussel recipe, a GMIT student chef competition, and demonstrations from top chefs Jess Murphy of Kai Restaurant, Galway, Tim O’Sullivan of Renvyle House Hotel and Michael O’Meara of Oscar’s Seafood Bistro who will also sign copies of his book “Seafood Gastronomy” which has been shortlisted for the “Best in the World Gourmand Cookbook Awards 2016”.
