Twenty – Four Creative Makers coming together to form a Pop up Shop
A unique pop up shop will be opening for two weeks of the Galway Arts Festival from the 17th of July until the 29th in the Cornstore Galway.
Twenty Four Creative Makers are pooling their resources with the help of the Local Enterprise Office Galway and the DCCoI to organise and run this pop up shop, featuring a wide range of crafts including: art prints, jewellery, ceramics, wood crafted pieces, original art, candles, and soap.
Featured among the twenty four makers is Burren Flower Fairies, the creation of Irish illustrator Susan Meaney whose studio is located in the Burren on the boarder of Co. Galway and Co. Clare. Her collection of cards, illustrations and gifts is inspired by the wildflowers of the Burren and the fairy folklore so richly ingrained in Irish story telling.
Another of the creative makers is Emerald & Wax founder Virture Shine a Ghanaian – American now living and working in Barna, Co. Galway.
Virtue has a passion for fashion design and her vibrant and original seasonal garments with traditional wax prints draws on her native Ghanian heritage.
Virtue creates separates like the timeless shift dress, statement coats, a – line and pencil skirts, kimono jackets and clutch bags.
Each piece of wearable art is unique and one of a kind.
These two talented makers are currently completing the “Building Craft and Design Enterprise Programme” run by the Local Enterprise Office Galway and the Design and Crafts Council of Ireland.
The pop up shop provides an opportunity for the public to see the quality of the products on sale and to meet and greet the makers and hear the stories that inspire their works.
If you are looking for that special gift, a memento of your visit to Galway or a treat for yourself the pop up shop opens the 17th of July right up until the 29th of July with late opening for the first week.
