Cois Cladaigh Chamber Choir will perform a repertoire of contemporary choral music at the upcoming Connemara Mussel Festival.
The Galway-based mixed voice choir specialises in Irish choral music. The choir has toured widely in Europe and regularly commission new works.
The name – Cois Cladaigh – is Irish and can be translated as “beside the Claddagh” which is a well-known area in Galway City. The choir specialises in European music from the late 15th and early 16th centuries, particularly from Ireland, but also from Scandinavia, Eastern European countries, and North America.
The concert will take place in Tullycross Church on Saturday the 30th of April in Tullycross Chuch. Early booking is advisable.
Celebrating the best mussels in Ireland, the Connemara Mussel Festival offers an action packed weekend with great cuisine, live entertainment, cultural exhibits, activities, arts and crafts and a whole lot of fun.
The family-friendly event, now an 11-year tradition, will be held once again in the village of Tullycross, Connemara, over the May Bank Holiday weekend, April 29th to May 1st.
