The Connemara Mussel Festival is ready to serve another helping of foodie fun.
Building on last year’s success, the mussel festival has a selection of themed events taking place over the three day festival ( April 29th – May 1st ), there are cookery demonstrations by internationally and nationally renowned chefs, essential cooking tips and techniques, and a special cooking session for children with GMIT’s culinary team ready to get the younger festival goers preparing and cooking.
Meanwhile, a very special celebrity cook-off is sure to be the highlight of the event. The Connacht Tribune Newspaper Editor Dave O’Connell will take on Neil ‘Molly in the Morning’ Molloy from Galway Bay FM, they will battle head-to-head to produce a restaurant quality dish each. With their culinary kudos on the line, both will have to bring their A games.
Celebrating the best mussels in Ireland, the Connemara Mussel Festival offers an action packed weekend with great cuisine, live entertainment, cultural exhibits, activities, arts and crafts and a whole lot of fun.
The celebrity cook-off event takes place on Saturday April 30th @ 4.30pm.
