The Hungry Bear Restaurant is taking the bull by the horns, so to speak, and launching a fast casual dining experience in Galway that promises their customers a farm to fork experience, a food revolution to support local and provide customers with wholesome food – made fast.
Founded by Athenry native Eamon Keogh, the restaurant has undergone a menu and interior revamp over the past number of weeks. Eamon, a former GAA All Ireland Club Hurling Star for Athenry has a vision is to create a traceability factor; so customers would know where their food is coming from, the result is Hungry Bear, a wholesome food restaurant.
“The food is true farm-to-fork. We are working closely with local producers such as The Friendly Farmer, The Sauce Guy and Brady’s Butchers in Athenry as well as making sure that our homemade sauces remain additive free.” says Lisa Doherty, Manager of Hungry Bear, a well known restauranteur, having ran several successful eateries in the U.S over the past twenty years.
The success here is using the farm ingredients, that whole experience of farm-to-table,” Doherty said.
Highlights include the Grass-Fed Beef Burger, Chargrilled & Buttermilk Chicken and the handhelds, including lunchtime favourites of wraps and green leaf salads.
“There’s really something for everybody,” says Lisa. “Hungry Bear is that rare restaurant where both diet-conscious diners and meat-and-potatoes types will be satisfied.”
Hungry Bear caters to the whole family, featuring a special, kids menu, while accommodating such diets as gluten free, Paleo and vegetarian. The Hungry Bear will be hosting special events and educational activities to serve as a wellness hub in the restaurant community.
